Why Me?

Daniel Nikolaou - Why Me?

I want to change things for the better. And make brands & companies understand that human beings are more than just KPI numbers. That's my main purpose why I'm doing what I do. I'm also a self-made guy, who ground himself from nearly nothing through lots of losses & fun & excitement. Sounds quite passionate, right?

My journey lead me from studying visual communications & business/marketing to being a simple graphic designer in a start-up agency, where we created together early human-centered interactive promotion tools in the early 2000s. When we expanded through lots of hard work to Switzerland & Dubai, I became creative director. In those days I started to get more & more into digital marketing & different PoVs of humans & businesses. After that, I worked as a consultant & strategist for different digital marketing agencies - wanting to learn more about DAX 30 consultancies & how they work. When teaming up with Avanade in co-op with Accenture, I started to develop myself into a service-driven strategist/designer - which lead me to service design & a new career, working for international agencies like Ogilvy. During the following "exciting hunger years" when I was constantly learning rather than working, I got a deeper understanding of human behaviors when interacting with brands & companies. Right after that, I started my own collaborative, human-driven way of work in Berlin/Germany.
